My name is Qais, and I am a Biomedical Engineering student at the University of Waterloo! I like creative problem solving, cooking, escape rooms, travelling, and spending my free time on skill acquisition. In 2008, I moved to Canada with my family from the United Arab Emirates and have lived in BC until I came to Ontario for university. I hope to some day work in data science and machine learning to advance the capabilities of AI in the 21st century and beyond
Due to my love for problem solving, engineering was an easy choice. Actively seeking out new skills, I discovered interests in data science, machine learning, neural networks, and many other computer science topics as I learned how to program. I program in the language I believe is best fit for a project, but I am most proficient in python. I am always looking to learn and apply new ideas and frameworks to create new technologies and I am eager to apply this mindset my workplace. I'm currently looking for programming internships for the summer of 2022 in software development to further improve on my skills and learn from industry professionals
